About Tic Tac Toe Watch Game - Trio
Trio is tic tac toe for Wear OS, drawn for a round screen and a fingertip: a lime X, a blue O, a clean grid, and every cell its own tap target.
THREE BOARDS
3x3 is the classic: three in a row wins. 4x4 and 5x5 ask for four in a row, which opens up forks and long lines the small board never has room for. Tap the size you want and the game starts - there is no confirm step.
PLAY THE WATCH, OR A FRIEND
Solo, you are X against Trio's AI. Or choose Friend and pass the watch across the table: two players, one screen, no phone and no network. The first move alternates every round, so nobody keeps it.
THREE AI LEVELS
- Easy picks any free cell. Good for warming up.
- Tactical, the default, takes a win when it sees one, blocks yours, and looks a few moves ahead to set up threats of its own.
- Perfect, on classic 3x3, searches the whole game and cannot be beaten - the best you can get is a draw. On 4x4, 5x5 and in Loop the top level is called Strong instead: a complete search does not fit on a watch there, so the app does not promise one.
When several moves are equally good, the AI chooses between them at random, so the same opening does not always play out the same way.
LOOP: A BOARD THAT NEVER FILLS UP
In Loop each player keeps only three marks on the board - four on 4x4 and 5x5. Place one more and your oldest mark leaves. Small numbers show the order of every mark, and the one that leaves next is ringed, so you always see what is about to go. After 60 moves without a winner the round is a draw.
ONE ROUND, OR FIRST TO 3
Play single rounds, or a series where the first to win three rounds is champion. Draws score nothing. The series score stays under the board the whole time.
THREE DAILY PUZZLES
Every day brings three: one on 3x3, one on 4x4 and one on 5x5. You are X, and you have to force a win within two of your own moves against an AI that defends perfectly on 3x3 and at Strong on the larger boards. Each puzzle was checked by a solver against every possible reply. The menu counts 0/3 to 3/3, each puzzle keeps its own progress, and a failed attempt can be tried again. The puzzles come from a fixed set of 24 per board size, so over the months they repeat. They never touch your regular match or your record.
IT KEEPS YOUR GAME
Press Back mid-round and the home screen offers Resume game. The round, the series score, your settings and today's puzzles all survive closing the app. Your solo record - wins, draws and losses - sits on the home screen.
THE FINISH
The winning line draws itself across the board, the watch gives a double pulse for a win and a single one for a draw, and the result screen offers the next round, View board and Home.
LIGHT OR DARK
A dark theme for the evening and a light one on a cream ground for daylight, switched in Settings and remembered. Changing the theme never resets a match, and haptics can be turned off.
NOTHING TO SET UP
It runs on the watch by itself: no phone app, no account, no internet, no ads, no analytics and nothing to buy inside. It asks for no permissions at all.
Needs Wear OS 3 or newer. The game's own labels are in English.
