Point your camera and this QR code reader scans QR codes and barcodes instantly. Before you open a link, it checks on your phone whether the address hides a trick leading to a fake site. It also creates codes and keeps a history. No ads.

FEATURES

■ Scan fast
13 formats: QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF and Codabar. It runs inside the app, so it works offline and in airplane mode. With several codes in view, you pick one. Flashlight, zoom, tap to focus and the front camera help with tricky codes; limiting formats (say, only EAN at a register) avoids misreads.

■ Scan from images
Read codes in photos and screenshots. If none is found, it zooms in and tries again; if there are several, you choose. Images shared from other apps work too.

■ Act on the result
Actions match the content:
• Link: open, search or share
• Wi-Fi: join on the spot (before Android 11, the password is copied and Wi-Fi settings open)
• Contact (vCard / MECARD): add to contacts, call or email
• Phone, SMS, email: opens the right app, pre-filled
• Location: open in maps. Event: add to calendar
• Product (EAN / UPC): web or shopping search. Book (ISBN): search
Every result can be copied, shared or turned into a new QR code.

■ Check links before opening
Before opening a link, it shows where it goes and checks the address for spoofing tricks:
• an @ hiding the real destination, or an IP address instead of a name
• look-alike letters or mixed scripts (such as Cyrillic)
• a famous brand name on an unrelated domain
• a short link hiding the destination
• unencrypted http or an unusual port
• an ending common on throwaway sites (.zip .top .xyz…) or too many dots before the real name
• a link that runs code, opens device files or launches another app
It runs only on your device; the address is never sent anywhere. If something looks wrong, it shows why and asks before opening.
Note: a fake page on a real domain, or a hacked genuine site, cannot be detected this way. "Nothing unusual" means the address shows no suspicious signs. It is not a guarantee that the site itself is safe.

■ Create QR codes and barcodes
QR codes for 9 types: link, text, Wi-Fi, contact, email, phone, SMS, location and event. Barcodes in the 9 formats above (EAN-13 to Codabar), with EAN/UPC check digits added for you. Save to your gallery or share. Text shared from other apps becomes a code in one step. Codes show on white at full brightness (optional) so checkout scanners can read them.

■ History and shortcuts
Scans and created codes are saved. Search, star, add notes, filter by Scanned, Created or Starred, and show a code again. History stays on your device, out of Android's automatic backup, so scans are not copied elsewhere; you can turn it off. The Quick Settings tile, home screen widget and app icon's long-press menu open the scanner in one tap.

• Bulk create: up to 200 codes at once, one per line, saved to your gallery

Premium is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. On the same Google account, "Restore purchase" brings it back on a new phone. Scanning, result actions, link checks, creating and history all work without buying.

PERMISSIONS & PRIVACY
• The camera is the only permission requested: no location, contacts or storage
• Contacts, calls, maps and calendar events are handed to other apps, so no permission is needed
• Images open through Android's photo picker; only the one you pick is read
• Nothing you scan is sent out, and no advertising ID is used
