About Woodshed

Woodshed brings a classical musician's practice work together in one place: the
material, the planning, the tracking of practice, and the supporting tools.
Everything is stored on the device and works offline.

The name comes from "woodshedding", the musicians' term for intense, private work
with the instrument.

LIBRARY
• Organise works, studies and methods with their metadata: composer, arranger,
year, period, instrumentation, tags, difficulty and notes.
• Attach each item's representations: PDF scores, MusicXML, MIDI, audio and
YouTube videos.
• Import scores from a file or scan them with the camera (edge detection and
multi-page PDF).
• Browse the material by type, period and composer, with search and favourites.
• Fill in metadata from public sources and open resource catalogues in your
browser.

STUDY PROGRAMS
• Structure your work into blocks (with an estimated duration) and exercises.
• Set type, duration, target repetitions, instructions and resources.
• For PDF scores, select pages or crop specific fragments; the original is never
modified.

PRACTICE AND PROGRESS
• Sessions with a timer, repetition counter, self-assessment and notes.
• Record audio of your playing during practice.
• See your practice time in a heatmap (week, total and streak) and walk through
your progress by program, block and exercise.

PDF WORKBOOK
• Generate a printable workbook from a program, with optional cover and index,
scores and fragments, audio/MIDI references and QR codes for the videos.

VIEWER AND TOOLS
• Score viewer with navigation, zoom and temporary focus on sections.
• Metronome, chromatic microphone tuner and a drone with timbres and an optional
fifth.

SHARING, BACKUPS AND LANGUAGES
• Export and import programs as .arco files.
• Back up locally or to your Google Drive, with restore and migration.
• Interface in Spanish and English; light or dark theme following the system.

PRIVACY
• Your data lives on the device. No advertising, no analytics, no trackers. The
network features (metadata, portraits, searches and Google Drive) are optional
and used only when you enable them.
