"Bible" is a word entered into Kiswahili without being translated. The origin of this word is the Greek language. The translation of that word is "Books" in Kiswahili.
The first part of the Christian Bible is called the "Old Testament" because it describes the covenant (covenant) between God and his ancient elect, Israel
The last 27 books are called that because they tell about the new covenant (covenant) between God and all mankind.
