No. Every chapter of both translations is stored on your device after installation, and reading works completely offline with no account, login, or sign-up required.

How much can I read without upgrading?
The starting tier includes 5 chapters a day of the Korean translation, with ads shown outside the reading screen itself - never mid-chapter. Premium removes that daily limit along with the ads.

What does Premium unlock?
A single one-time purchase removes all limits and ads, and unlocks full-text search, the complete glossary, side-by-side Korean-English reading, and additional sepia and night reading themes.

Is Premium a subscription?
No. Premium is a one-time purchase - pay once and keep every unlocked feature for as long as you use the app. There's no recurring charge, ever.

Which translations does Lumen use, and are they accurate?
Lumen uses the 개역한글 (1961) Korean translation, now in the public domain, and the World English Bible, a public-domain English translation - both are established, widely used texts, not machine translations.

Can I search for a specific verse or word?
Yes, with Premium. Full-text search covers both translations at once, so you can look up a word in either language and see every verse where it appears, instead of paging through books by memory.

Does the daily limit reset, or is it a one-time allowance?
The 5-chapter starting limit resets every day, so you can keep reading day after day at that pace with no extra purchase - Premium simply removes the cap entirely for uninterrupted reading.

Will my bookmarks and reading progress be lost if I upgrade later?
