About Hason Geeti - হাসন গীতি সমগ্র

Dewan Ahidur Raja Chowdhury or Dewan Hasan Raja Chowdhury (pseudonym) (21 December 1854 – 6 December 1922) was a mystic poet and Baul artist of Bangladesh. His real name was Ahidur Raja. Sylhet say or write the word Raja as Reza or Raja, so their name was written as Reza or Raja, but actually the word will be Raja. The original word or name is Ahidur Raja but he was popularly known as Hasan Raja. Mystical pursuits have created an extraordinary connection between music and philosophy in Bangladesh. According to most experts, Lalon Shah is the main pioneer. Apart from this, Ibrahim Tashna Duddu Shah, Panj Shah, Pagla Kanai, Radharaman Dutta, Arkum Shah, Shitalong Shah, Jalal Khan and many others have to be named. But the characteristic name that comes after nurturing in terms of philosophy is Hasan Raja.

Birth and genealogy
Hashan Raja was born on December 21, 1854 (7 Paush 1261) in Tegharia village of Lakshmanchari (Lakshmanshri) pargana on the banks of Surma river near Sunamganj town of Sylhet district. Hashan Raja is the son of a zamindar family. His father Dewan Ali Raja Chowdhury was a prominent zamindar. Hasan Raja is his third son. Ali Raja married Hurmat Jahan Bibi, the childless widow of his uncle/cousin Amir Bakhsh Chowdhury, at a mature age. Hashan Raja was born in Hurmat Bibi's womb. Hashan's father Dewan Ali Raja named him Ahidur Raja after his own name as suggested by his beautiful handsome brother Dewan Obedur Raja.

The ancestors of Hasan Raja were Hindus. One of them Virendrachandra Sinhadev converted to Islam Babu Roy Chowdhury. Ayodhya was the ancestral home of Hasan Raja. Before coming to Sylhet, they were residents of Kagdi village in Jessore district of South Bengal. Towards the end of the 16th century, his ancestor Vijay Singh settled in Konaura village of Biswanath Thana in Sylhet district, later at some point Vijay Singh left Konaura village and founded another village in the same area and named it by adding the first part of the name of Ramchandra Singhadeva, the progenitor of his clan, named "Ram". Rampasha did.

Music pursuits
Hachan Raja's thinking can be found in his songs. An exact count of how many songs he composed is not available. His 206 songs have been compiled in the book 'Hachan Udas'. Apart from this, some other songs have been published in various magazines including 'Hashan Rajar Tinpurush' and 'Al Islah'. It is said that the descendants of Hachan Raja have manuscripts of his songs. It can be assumed that many of his songs are still in the mouths of the people of Sylhet-Sunamganj, some songs have disappeared with time. Another book of Hachan written in verse, 'Shaukhin Bahar', is the subject of discussion - 'Judgment of nature by looking at the shape of women, horses and birds (Loksahithya Patrika, July-December 1979. Syed Murtaza Ali, 'Mysterious Poet Hasan Raja'). Another book of his called 'Hachan Bahar' has been discovered some time back. Some other Hindi songs of Hashan Raja are also found.

Hachan's songs are composed following the Chak-Bandha theme of mystical songs. Devotion to God, the impermanence of worldly life and the incapacity of people in love to worship are mainly reflected in his songs. Somewhere he considers himself as a godless person, and it is also said that he is a kite tied to the hands of an invisible controller.

It is not clear which path Hashan Raja was a follower of. There is no mention of Guru in his Padavali. Some say he was a saint of the Chishtiya sect. Although Sufism inspired and influenced his music and philosophy, he may not have been a full believer in this idea. He sometimes referred to himself as 'Baula' or 'Baul'. However, although he belonged to the Bauls, he was not a formal Bauls himself. Many believe that the path of his sadhana is built by combining Sufimat with native Lokayat Murmidhara and own thoughts. A sadhana-philosophical influence can be said to be behind his music.

death
Hashan Raja died on 7th December 1922. His tomb is in the family cemetery called Gazi Darga under Sunamganj Municipality.
