The Buy My Stuff (BMS) App exists to create choice & opportunity through a highly accessible mobile marketplace that aims to keep money in communities, thereby increasing the buying power of a Rand within those communities. This translates into better access to healthcare, education, logistics and growth. Once opportunity is created, the rise of those willing to grow is inevitable.
BuyMyStuff was borne from a real need for social change. The story starts with a Cardiothoracic Surgeon who regularly saw queues and queues of people lined up outside of a public practice, where, unfortunately, only a few could receive assistance daily. The faces would change every year, but the systemic problems in the communities would not. He became tired of seeing how disempowered each person was, having little money, little hope, ailments that they could not afford to cure and most importantly, limited options to change their realities. The travesty of inevitable loss, death and sadness followed as time went by. He sought to find a better way to empower the people.
In order to give back to communities, reinvigorate the economy, and multiply money within communities, 3J Media created the BMS App that acts on all these premises to change the landscape of economic exchange, and ultimately give each South African the opportunity to own their very own businesses.
