About Windtrack

Windtrack doesn't just show you the weather forecast — it analyses how the
forecast for a future date changes over time.

Other apps give you the latest forecast. You look weeks ahead, see
"Saturday, 25 knots, let's cancel" — and Saturday turns out flat calm.
Windtrack queries five global models four times a day for the point and
hour you chose, and never deletes a single record. When the spread between
models narrows, that is a far stronger sign of confidence than wind speed
alone.

WHAT YOU GET

- Five global models side by side: ECMWF, ICON, GFS, MeteoFrance and UKMO
— four updates a day
- Drift chart: see at a glance how the forecast has moved over the days
- Model agreement: as the spread narrows, confidence grows — a data-backed
answer to "do we go or not"
- Skipper commentary: everything collected is turned into a sailor's read
by AI; you get a notification on your phone when it's ready
- Offline access: even out of coverage, the last forecasts, charts and
commentary still open — every piece of data is stamped with when it
arrived, so stale data never fools you
- Night mode: on watch, a bright white screen ruins dark-adapted eyes.
Windtrack runs on a deep navy palette, map included. It follows your
phone's setting or stays fixed on day or night
- Five languages: the app, the skipper commentary and the notifications in
Turkish, English, German, Russian and Greek — following your phone
- Spatial pattern: four measurement points 20 nautical miles north, south,
east and west of your target show how the wind is spread across the area
- Historical context: compared against the past five years for the same
place and the same date window — is this wind ordinary or unusual?
- High resolution: three days out, the 5 km POSEIDON model comes online
- Outcome: watch whether the forecast held, against live data from
observation stations; the station's distance in miles is always stated

Note: All global forecast models can be wrong. Windtrack does not produce
forecasts; it tracks and analyses how the forecasts of existing models
change over time.

The decision to put to sea always rests with the skipper.
