About XPipe Pro: Pipefitter Calc

XPipe Pro works out the numbers a pipefitter needs on the bench and draws the part
they belong to, so the figure on the screen and the shape in your hands are the
same thing.

Every answer comes with a scale drawing of that exact assembly, dimensioned
where you would put a tape on it — not a stock diagram of something similar.

NINE CALCULATORS

• S type — two half elbows in one plane, with or without an insert. Six ways in:
the angle, the offset, the overall length, a fixed 45°, the insert, or the
offset and length together.
• Rolled elbow — a 90° elbow turned about the inlet axis and a fitting that lays
the run flat again, so the line gains height without moving sideways.
• 3D — a run across X, Y and Z. Both elbow angles are solved separately because
they differ, and the box you measure is drawn around the pipe.
• Elbow cut — cutting an elbow to an odd angle: take-out, heel and throat arcs,
chords, heights, and the arcs to mark back from the face you already have.
• Forming gas — purge time before the root pass, the gas it costs, and the inlet
velocity that says the flow rate is wrong before the weld does.
• Reducer cut — how far to cut a reducer back so its end lands on the diameter
you need, with the offcut and the cut plane drawn.
• Cone layout — the sector to strike on flat sheet for a full or truncated cone,
with the sheet size, the surface area and the volume.
• Pipe bank — several lines making the same offset. Bend them all at one station
and the spacing closes up on the slant; this says how far to hold each fitting
back so it does not.
• Scientific calculator — full expression parser, DEG/RAD, memory and a history.

STANDARDS BUILT IN

Searchable pipe tables for EN 10357 (formerly DIN 11850 / 11852), ISO 1127,
ISO 2037, SMS 1145 and ASME B36.10M / B16.9, with short, long and orbital elbow
data. Any size drops straight into the calculators. Beside them sits a library
of every standard the trade quotes for pipe, fittings and joints, saying what
each one covers and which fittings it defines — with dimensioned drawings of
elbows, tees, reducers, unions, nuts and clamp ferrules.

WHY YOU CAN CUT TO IT

The iOS and Android versions run the same arithmetic, and 4,394 worked cases are
put through both engines and compared figure by figure on every change. They
agree to fifteen decimal places. Another 49 tests check the geometry itself:
worked examples stepped off by hand, exact round trips of every inverse, and the
identities that keep a drawing honest.
