About NexusOps

NexusOps is a mission-coordination platform for Civil Air Patrol (CAP) members — built by volunteers, for the wing. It brings the tools used to run search-and-rescue exercises and real missions into one app: live aircraft tracking, ground-team coordination, alerting, member sign-up, and the forms aircrews and staff fill out every sortie.

A NexusOps account is required. Sign-in is tied to your CAP membership (CAPID) and protected with multi-factor authentication or a passkey, so this app is intended for authorized CAP members only.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Live aircraft tracking — see CAP aircraft positions in real time on a map, fed by
ADS-B, with breadcrumb trails and a full per-mission track map.

• Ground Team — share your live GPS position with the mission, drop clues with photos and coordinates, and keep a field comms log, even on spotty connections.

• Aircraft Status — fleet readiness, flight-hour counters, and inspection countdowns at a glance.

• Missions & sortie tracking — follow ES and cadet orientation-flight sorties on one board, with ops-normal monitoring that flags late sorties early.

• WMAO alerting — 24/7 wing mission-alert duty roster with SMS and voice routing.

• Fuel receipts — snap or email a fuel receipt; the vendor, gallons, and total are read automatically and turned into the proper receipt/CAP Form 14 PDF.

• Flight planning tools — TOLD takeoff & landing data with weight & balance, and coordinate conversion.

• Member directory & qualifications — look up members, grades, and quals, pulled from the roster.

BUILT FOR THE FIELD

NexusOps works on phones and tablets and pairs with the Incident Management Kit (IMK) to keep a mission base online where there's no reliable internet. Timestamps display in your own timezone, and the app is designed to tolerate intermittent connectivity.

SECURITY

Every screen is behind authentication — no anonymous access. Sign in with your CAPID and password, a passkey (fingerprint / face), or Google, plus multi-factor authentication. Access is role-based, so members see only the tools their duties require.
