I played the original non-vr version, and it suffered from one element, even though it was occasionally scary, the majority of the time, there was no danger for the player character, making most of the scare...

Like a painting, this interactive narrative has many layers and takes many brush strokes to get the complete picture, but once it does, it's very striking. And it doesn't paint a pretty picture of the artist...
