About Our Métis Languages
Our Métis Languages is built around a simple idea: learners ask how to say something, and Mentors answer in their own voice, in their own language or dialect. Over time, this eases the load on Mentors because each answer lives on for the next learner who needs it.
Northern Michif, French Michif, Southern Michif, nêhiyawêwin - every dialect reflects generations of family, travel, trade, and connection to the land. This app is a place to gather those voices and keep them close.
Ask and search
Fill in "How do I say ___?" or search phrases that have already been answered. Every answer carries audio from a language Mentor.
Learn multiple dialects
Historically we would have understood each other, and our Languages share many commonalities and regional variations. Our Métis Languages holds space for all of them, so each language community can grow its own language bundle.

Keep the phrases you're working into daily life close at hand. Add new ones as they come up, retire the ones you've made your own.
