HOW A SWIM COMPETES WITH A LIFT

RIINA reads the shape of your heart rate. A model works out what you actually did — the intervals, the climbs, the long steady stretch — and scores the effort behind it rather than the distance in front of it.

That is why a hard swim, a heavy lift and a long ride can land on the same scoreboard. You are not being ranked against a runner's kilometres. You are being scored on how hard your session was for you, from your own resting and maximum heart rate.

WHAT COUNTS AS A WORKOUT

Running, cycling, swimming, strength training, rowing, hiking, football, climbing, yoga, HIIT, a long walk. RIINA does not keep a list of approved sports, because it is not scoring the sport. It is scoring the effort, so anything your watch or phone records can count.

That includes the sessions other fitness apps quietly ignore — the recovery ride, the technique session, the hour in the pool that covered no distance worth bragging about.

WHICH DEVICES WORK

Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, Whoop, Polar and Oura. Anything that writes to Health Connect will do, and RIINA reads what is already there — no separate tracking, no second app running in your pocket, no battery drain on top of the one you already carry.

Garmin owners: if your workouts are not reaching Health Connect, RIINA can pull them from Garmin directly.

A SEASON, NOT A STREAK

A new match starts every Monday and runs seven days. Win it, and your squad climbs the table. Five weeks decides the title, then the next season starts.

Rest days are part of training and RIINA is built that way. There is no streak to break, no penalty for a day off, nothing that punishes you for being injured or ill. Your team scores when you turn up — not against you when you do not.

That is the difference between a season and a streak. A streak asks you to train today. A season asks you to train for five weeks, which is how training actually works.

YOUR SQUAD

Bring the people you already train with, or get placed with players looking for a team. Squads have their own chat, their own table, and their own reasons to argue about the lineup. Challenges run alongside the season for anyone who wants a target between matches.

Every match gets its own commentary, written as it happens.

GETTING STARTED

Install RIINA, create an account, and connect Health Connect. If you already have a squad, join theirs. If you do not, you will be placed with one before the next match starts — you are never waiting on a season to begin.

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR HEALTH DATA

It is never used for advertising. Not by us, not by anyone we work with — your workouts, heart rate and routes are for scoring and for the people on your team, and nothing else.

Your data is stored on servers in the EU. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.
