Are the different attributes of hockey sticks and the terms that describe them nonsense to you? Do your slap shots hit the lower corners while you are dreaming of hitting the top shelf?
Here's an easy calculator app that tells you what kind of stick you need based on your height, weight and style of play. Put your equipment in order and it all starts with the stick. You can then focus on your technique.
Features:
- Factory length stick (inch ")
- Stiffness (FLEX)
- Kick-Point
- Blade Curve Mirror
- Stage Curve type
- Stick Angle (LIE)
Tips:
- Shortening the stick, eg by sawing, increases the FLEX value
- The lower the FLEX value, the easier it is for the shaft to bend. Too small flex value, however, takes away the energy from the shots and the stick control is weakened. Too high flex value and the shots will only lick the ice.
- The length of the racket is also affected by the playing field. A slightly shorter racket is suitable for an attacker, while a slightly longer racket is suitable for a defender. The default length is your own length -15cm
- The angle of the racket blade (LIE) depends on the length of the player and the position of the game. When playing, the center of the stage should touch the ice.
