About Sigscan Healthcare

SIGSCAN is an asset-traceability solution for healthcare organisations. It helps
hospitals, clinics and care facilities know what equipment they own, where it is,
and who is using it.

This app is the mobile companion of the SIGSCAN platform. It is intended for the
staff of organisations that subscribe to the service: an account created by your
administrator is required to sign in.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

- Associate a tag with an item. Scan a Bluetooth (BLE) or RFID tag, or a barcode,
and link it to a piece of equipment in your inventory.
- Fill in item details. Add the information your organisation tracks, and attach
photos taken with the device camera.
- Search and list equipment. Browse the items registered for your site, and find
a specific one from its tag, its name or its custom fields.
- Locate a tag. Use a connected RFID reader to home in on a tagged item nearby.
- Declare positions. Record where equipment is currently located, so the next
person looking for it knows where to start.
- Dissociate a tag when an item leaves the fleet or is retagged.

RFID AND BLUETOOTH READERS

The app works with the device's own Bluetooth and camera, and pairs with
supported handheld RFID readers, including Zebra terminals. Audible and haptic
feedback confirms each successful scan.

OUTDOOR TRACKING (OPTIONAL)

The app can keep recording the position of tagged equipment while it is not in
the foreground. When you enable this option in the settings, a foreground
service scans nearby Bluetooth tags at the interval you choose and sends their
position to your SIGSCAN server, so equipment can be located across a site.

This feature is off by default. You choose whether to enable it, a permanent
notification is displayed for as long as it runs, and you can turn it off at any
time from the settings screen. It requires the "Allow all the time" location
permission so that tracking survives the app being in the background or the
device being restarted.

REQUIREMENTS

A SIGSCAN server and an account provided by your organisation. Contact your
administrator if you do not have credentials.
