About Architektura drewniana Polesia

From cottage to cottage - along the trail of wooden architecture of Western Polesie" is a project whose main goal is to document, archive and make available to the widest possible extent phenomena related to the heritage of traditional culture, such as the construction of villages in the Włodawa district. The application contains research on rural architecture - both the residential part - cottages and farmsteads; what the old homestead looked like and what buildings it included, what work and small crafts took place within the homestead, what characteristic elements appeared in the construction of a given village, what the settlement in these areas looked like. It includes a technical and photographic inventory of wooden buildings included in the farmstead. The application is supplemented by queries in the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments and municipal registers of monuments. There are 4 tourist trails leading through the towns of Włodawa County, where there are most monuments of wooden architecture, and a map with all the preserved elements of traditional construction.
