Xapo is regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC). The GFSC supervises and regulates both fiat currency and crypto activities, allowing us to offer our unique proposition given that most jurisdictions don’t currently regulate cryptocurrency and blockchain services.
The fiat services we provide fall under our banking entity, Xapo Bank, and are covered by the Gibraltar Deposit Guarantee Scheme (or GDGS). This means that your funds are protected up to the currency equivalent of €100,000. You don’t need to be a Gibraltar resident to benefit from this guarantee.
