The animated band plays songs from Storytown's debut album in augmented reality
About STORYTOWN AR Companion
The STORYTOWN AR Companion app augments the mobile phone’s camera view by surrounding the user with 2D stop motion animations of the four band members, playing songs from the band’s upcoming album Welcome to STORYTOWN. Spatial, or 3D, audio moves around the user’s head as she walks in and around the band members.
The app also decorates the surrounding space with posters and graffiti referencing the band and music. In a special bonus feature, the app will decorate a real wall in “Storytown” (SoHo, NYC) with posters and ephemera as seen in the album art.
In the first release the app supports STORYTOWN’s first single, I Thought We Had a Deal. The user will be able to add more songs from the album over the ensuing weeks.
