St. Theresa’s Church, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad – 18 was bifurcated from Khairatabad Parish and was made into a separate parish on 1-7-1973. It was permanently entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco on 22-8-1975 by the very Rev. Msgr. S. Arulappa, Archbishop of Hyderabad. At that time the parish extended 18 sq. kilometres with a catholic population of 1470. Rev. Fr. John Luns as parish priest and Fr. Kottekarite Joseph as the assistant were the pioneers. From that time, besides the pastoral work in the parish, other initiatives like, school, media centre, library, tailoring and embroidery, typing and short hand, hostel for poor boys, youth centre, Institute of Electronics, career guidance etc were started for the good of the people of the parish. A specious auditorium, library and meeting halls too were built in the premises.
