Humility is one of the actions that brings us closest to God Almighty, and it is one of the characteristics of our master and beloved Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Humility is the characteristic of the honorable companions, as they were humble, cheerful and good-natured
Humility is a noble and generous human nature, because the humble person is the one who sees everything he does and succeeds in as simple and that there may be someone better than him and higher in rank than him. Thus, he will have a virtuous position among the people around him, and his status will rise among them because of his virtuous morals. And his noble humility, in addition to the fact that this sincere humility will have a positive impact on the person himself, as he will continue to strive tirelessly to achieve more successes, and work hard to reach higher levels, and this is only because he does not see the success he has achieved as the pinnacle and that he is the only one and the best, but rather He always feels short and that he can offer more. This is a beautiful effect of humility that benefits the humble person and the surrounding society as well.
Blessed is he who humbles himself without diminishing
74 - Yahya bin Ayyub told us, Ismail bin Jaafar told us, he told me ⦗97⦘ Al-Alaa bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Charity does not decrease wealth, and God Almighty does not increase a servant by pardoning him.” Except glory, and no servant of God Almighty humbles himself except that God Almighty exalts him.”
The humility of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him
On the authority of Habib bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of his aunt Anisa, she said: (My neighborhood maids would take their sheep to Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, and he would say to them: Would you like me to milk for you Aleppo Ibn Afaf?) Ra?) [3] This is extreme humility on his part, may God be pleased with him, until it was mentioned that when he was appointed caliph of the Muslims Some of the women of the neighborhood said to him: Now don’t milk for us, so he heard that, so he swore to them that he would remain in his position, asking the Lord not to change it for them.[4] So he did not abandon the character of humility after the caliphate, calling on God to remain steadfast in values and principles.
Al-Hafiz Ibn Katheer - may God have mercy on him - said about him in Al-Bidayah and Al-Nihayah: “He is famous for his many useful, popular and famous books on chips and other things.
How great is humility if it is from a true greatness? Humility is one of the noble morals that characterized Al-Farouk, and his love for others bequeathed to him. The humble servant makes people like to treat him, want to sit with him, wish to meet him, feel comfortable with his words, and devote themselves to serving him. Humility means accepting the truth from whoever it is, lowering one's wings and being gentle, and not feeling that one has superiority over others. How beautiful is the poet’s saying: Be humble, be like a star that appears to the observer *** on the sheets of water while it is thin, and do not be like smoke that rises by itself *** to the layers of the atmosphere while it is low. Al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, said: “Humility is a characteristic of honorable people, and arrogance is a characteristic of meanness.” And he says “The most virtuous people are those who do not see their worth, and the most virtuous people are those who do not see their merits” [1]. Omar bin Al-Khattab gives people their due: And let us listen with our hearts to this narration, as Al-Muttaqi Al-Hindi reported in (Kanz Al-Ummal, Part 1 - Page 5) on the authority of Sharhabeel bin Muslim Al-Khawlani that Al-Aswad bin Qais bin Dhu Al-Khimar prophesied about Yemen, so he sent to Abu Muslim Al-Khawlani, so he came to him and said: Do you bear witness? That I am the Messenger of God? He said: I don't hear. He said: Do you bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God? He said: Yes. So he ordered a great fire, then he threw Abu Muslim into it, but it did not harm him. It was said to Al-Aswad bin Qais: If you do not renounce this, those who follow you will spoil you. So he ordered him to leave, so he came to Medina, and the Messenger of God had died, and he appointed Abu Bakr as his successor. He stopped his camel at the door of the mosque and entered to pray to a pole, and Omar bin Al-Khattab saw him, so he stood up to him and said: Who is the man? He said: From the people of Yemen. He said: What did the one who was burned by the liar do? (It added in Al-Mukhtab: By fire) He said: That is Abdullah bin Thawb. He said: So I called you by God, are you him? He said: Oh God, yes. So Omar embraced him and cried, then took him and made him sit between him and Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, and said: Praise be to God who did not let me die until he showed me in the nation of Muhammad someone who was done to him as was done to Ibrahim, Khalil Al-Rahman, and the Fire did not harm him.
