CardioSignal is a reliable and easy to use CE certified (Class IIa) medical device that can easily detect atrial fibrillation in your heart. The risks associated with atrial fibrillation are directly proportional to the duration of the atrial fibrillation. Untreated atrial fibrillation can expose eg. stroke and heart failure. Atrial fibrillation may be asymptomatic and thus difficult to detect. Therefore, it is important to detect any potential atrial fibrillation and treat it promptly. We recommend that you perform the measurement twice daily.

Typically, atrial fibrillation can be treated with medications, hospitalization, or a combination of these. Proper treatment depends on many factors, such as age and other conditions. Therefore, after a diagnosis of atrial fibrillation, it is always important to contact the attending physician who will make the diagnosis and assess the need for treatment.

Based on evidence from an independent clinical trial, CardioSignal detects atrial fibrillation with an accuracy of approximately 96%. This blinded study was performed in a Finnish hospital. CardioSignal uses motion sensors on the phone to detect atrial fibrillation, analyzing measured data to determine whether it is a normal or atrial fibrillation rhythm.

The app is easy to use: Lie down and Relax. Press the start button from the app and place your phone in the center of your chest. The measurement takes 60 seconds, after which you will get the result in seconds.

Please note that the atrial fibrillation measurement requires a 1 month, 3 month or 1 year subscription. The app offers you the opportunity to try 5 free measurements before making a purchase decision. Creating a user ID is required to test the measurement. Some smartphone models produce bad quality sensor data and therefore those devices are not supported by CardioSignal and the application cannot be installed on such a device.
