The National League for Nursing (NLN) Pre-Admission Examination (PAX) is a standardized examination for anyone wishing to attend a United States nursing school. Minimum passing standards are based on each individual school’s entrance requirements. All candidates must have a high school diploma or the GED equivalent prior to taking the NLN PAX. The examination consists of 80 verbal ability questions (60 scored), 54 mathematics questions (40 scored), and 80 science questions (60 scored) in three separate sections. Candidates have 60 minutes to complete each individual section.
