The Stages of the Wayfarers: Between the Stations of "You Alone We Worship and You Alone We Ask for Help" was authored by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (691-751 AH / 1292-1349 CE). It is an explanation of the book by Shaykh al-Islam, Imam Abu Isma'il al-Harawi, entitled "Stations of the Wayfarers to the Lord of the Worlds." Ibn Qayyim begins his work by discussing the opening chapter of the Quran, Surah al-Fatihah, and then speaks about servitude. The book consists of numerous chapters and stations of servitude.

This book calls for embracing the Quran, understanding it, reflecting upon it, extracting its treasures, and devoting one's attention to it. For truth and the path are all derived from its light. This book focuses particularly on the opening chapter of the Quran, the Mother of the Qur'an (Al-Fatihah), and its lofty principles, its exhortation to truth and patience in upholding it, and the mutual exhortation to both. It also addresses Ibn al-Qayyim's attempts to refute all sects of heretics and those who have gone astray, distinguishing between their means and ends, their innate talents and acquired qualities, and demonstrating that no other chapter can replace it or fulfill its role. Therefore, God did not reveal anything like it in the Torah, the Gospel, or the Qur'an.

Author: Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr ibn Ayyub ibn Sa'd al-Zar'i al-Dimashqi, Shams al-Din, Abu Abdullah, known as Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. He was a prominent figure in Islamic religious reform during the eighth century AH. He was born in Damascus to Kurdish parents and studied under Ibn Taymiyyah al-Dimashqi, who was also of Kurdish descent, and was greatly influenced by him. He served as an imam at the Jawziyya Mosque and taught at the Sadriyah Mosque and other places. Addressing the issue of fatwas and authorship. His connection with Ibn Taymiyyah: Historians agree that their meeting took place in 712 AH, the year he returned from his travels to Damascus, where he settled until his death in 751 AH.

- This book opens the doors of understanding for you (the doors of knowledge, the doors of love, the doors of truthfulness, and the doors of action). I advise you to put down whatever book you are reading and read this book immediately. It contains such pleasure, truthfulness, and love that it gladdens the heart, brings tears to the eyes, opens the mind, and helps you understand what you have missed. May God have mercy on Ibn al-Qayyim and reward him abundantly on our behalf. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.

His servant is honored.

- It is enough that the author is Ibn al-Qayyim. Sometimes I wish I had lived in his time and studied under him. Anything he wrote, I consider a profound, spiritual, and religious masterpiece that nourishes every kind of passion for reading. I am not exaggerating when I say that you are missing out on a great deal if you do not read Ibn al-Qayyim, especially this book.

- What I have before me here is a lamp, not just any book. It illuminates the path of the seeker on the way to God, guiding him to visit the great stations and noble places, knocking on doors in the hope that God will grant him divine insight. I paused at some stations and continued browsing to other places.

- Among the most wonderful things Ibn al-Qayyim wrote on monotheism. The book revolves around the monotheism contained in Surah Al-Fatihah (the Opening), specifically the concepts of God's divinity, Lordship, and scientific monotheism, as well as the different categories of creation, including those blessed with Paradise, those who are astray, and those upon whom God's wrath has fallen. Ibn al-Qayyim deliberately clarifies the deviant sects, their errors, and their satanic ideas, and provides refutations based on the Quran and Sunnah. May God reward him on our behalf and on behalf of all who benefit from his knowledge until God inherits the earth and all that is on it.

- The chapter on chivalry (futuwwah) from Ibn al-Qayyim's *Madarij as-Salikin* (The Stages of the Seekers) is a psychological and educational approach to dealing with wicked and rude adversaries. It cultivates self-improvement and the development of others. I recommend studying it.

❇️ Some quotes from Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya's *Madarij as-Salikin* ❇️

“Ibn Ata’ said: Contentment is the heart’s tranquility with God’s eternal choice for His servant… that He has chosen the best for him, so he is content with it.” ...

“The cure for incantation lies in the one who recites it and the receptiveness of the recipient, just as the sword’s cure lies in its sharpness and the receptiveness of the recipient.”

“And he mentioned the straight path in the singular, definite form, with two definitions: one with the definite article, and one with the genitive construction, and that indicates its specific nature.”

— Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, Madarij al-Salikin (The Stages of the Wayfarers) between the Stations of “You Alone We Worship and You Alone We Ask for Help”
