Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell is an American singer and songwriter. In 2016, Billie Eilish released her debut single, "Ocean Eyes" which went viral. Her debut "Don't Smile at Me" was released in August 2017.

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, who produced the music and collaborated on the songwriting. Billie Eilish says Finneas, with whom she also performs at live events, is her partner in making music. Eilish and her brother "really love composing and creating characters. We love having songs that are really fictional."

Billie Eilish said a number of the songs they wrote also came from her and Finneas' experiences: "A lot of times we go through the same thing, so it's a mix of what she went through and what I went through. It's kind of half and half: a lot of them are fiction and many of them don't.
