Mobile UBI solutions are being developed as part of diverse technology options available through IMS UBI Intelligence. The key components of the IMS UBI Mobile Solution are as follows:
Mobile Telematics service:
Rather than installing an OBD2 device, the Mobile Telematics service uses the smartphone to collect driving data. Trip recording starts and stops automatically. A notification is displayed once trip recording starts, and by checking the notification a passenger may indicate that this trip should not be recorded.
IMS UBI Mobile:
IMS UBI Mobile provides feedback to enable the driver to modify their behavior. Events such as harsh braking, harsh acceleration, and overspeed are highlighted and scored. Daily, weekly, and monthly trends are shown with badges earned for good driving scores. Badges may be shared via social networking with friends and family.
