About Ericsson Device Analytics

!!ATTENTION!!: This application needs to be activated using a valid activation code. EDA user has to create an account on EDA web portal and request an activation code (only for authorized users).

Ericsson Device Analytics (EDA) is a wireless connectivity performance measurements application.

The connected device sends performance measurements, which are in fact the real-time geographical location correlated with radio-related and/or network speed test information, into a central database in the cloud to which an analytics engine is connected. The collected data can be used as an input for optimizing the network, to secure optimal quality of service.

Measurements execution is triggered from EDA Web portal. In more detail, EDA user can perform periodic speed test measurement scenarios (policies) (Downlink, Uplink, and Latency) towards EDA dedicated measurement servers. EDA app can extract radio & sensor information (Signal Trace Policy). When the measurement is completed, EDA App will generate a measurement report and send the measurement log to the data streamer. Finally, the measurement data can be in various ways visualized (geomapping, speed plotters, bar charts) via the GUI EDA Visualizer hosted on EDA Web portal.

Important Notes:
- EDA gathers location information even when in the background
- Running GPS in the background for long periods can really decrease battery life

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

What is Ericsson Device Analytics?

Ericsson Device Analytics (EDA) is a wireless connectivity performance measurements application.

How does EDA work?

The connected device sends performance measurements, including real-time geographical location and radio-related/network speed test information, to a central database in the cloud. An analytics engine is connected to this database to analyze the data for optimizing the network and ensuring optimal quality of service.

How can I activate the EDA application?

To activate the EDA application, you need to create an account on the EDA web portal and request an activation code. This is only available for authorized users.

How can measurements be executed with EDA?

Measurements can be triggered from the EDA Web portal. Users can perform periodic speed test measurement scenarios (policies) towards dedicated measurement servers. EDA app can extract radio and sensor information during the measurement.

What happens after the measurement is completed?

After the measurement is completed, the EDA app generates a measurement report and sends the measurement log to the data streamer. The measurement data can then be visualized in various ways (geomapping, speed plotters, bar charts) using the GUI EDA Visualizer hosted on the EDA Web portal.

Where can I find the EDA web portal?

The EDA web portal can be accessed at: https://deviceanalytics.ericsson.net/#!/login

Is there a privacy policy for EDA?

Yes, there is a privacy policy for EDA. Please refer to the following link for more information: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YL0_o2NIG4PvwTG09X0sC3TRiJe0KwIl0iLgGY3sar4/edit?usp=sharing
