What is guacamole?
It is a Mexican dish made with avocado in a perfect state of ripeness and green chile or chile bell pepper, and occasionally, tomato is added.
Etymologically, the word guacamole derives from "Ahuacamolli", a Nahuatl word formed by the combination of two words: "ahuacatl", which means avocado, and "molli", which means sauce or mole. In Central American countries, and in Cuba, it was originally called guacamole.

Brief history of guacamole
This delicious avocado sauce originated in the times of the Aztec civilization, before the 15th century. According to legend, it was Quetzalcoatl, the Toltec god, who gave this recipe to the inhabitants of his village, who then spread it throughout the area known as Mesoamerica, which is located in central and eastern Mexico and part of Guatemala. It is said that when the Spanish conquistadors arrived in Mexico, they found this dish exquisite, and tried to prepare it using other ingredients, since avocado was not cultivated in Europe, however, the flavor was not satisfactory, due to this, they decided to take the avocado to Europe for its cultivation. Thus, the original recipe, as it spread by the hand of the ancient conquerors to some European countries, evolved, due in part to the use of ingredients different from those in the original recipe, and above all due to the geographic location.

How guacamole was originally prepared?: In its original form, guacamole recipes was prepared using mashed avocado, lime juice, tomato, chili and water. Later, other ingredients have been added, such as garlic, onion, and cilantro. The different ways of consumption are transformed according to the geographical location where we are.
