About English Pron

English Pron will help you understand and improve your English pronunciation. You can learn the 44 sounds of English and practise these in example words, recording your voice and comparing it to native speakers. This is the most effective way to develop your pronunciation – to trust your own ears!

There are games to help you learn to recognise English sounds using pronunciation symbols from the international phonetic alphabet (IPA), and you can play against the clock to beat your own best time. The symbols are easy to learn using the activities in the app.

Word lists can be opened in different views. You can hide the English or hide the translations to test your understanding of the words. So far there are translations into 35 languages.

There are videos with interactive recording activities and quizzes to help you understand the English sound system and to practise similar sounds which are often confused. Soon you’ll be speaking like a native!
