Simpatia Supermercados is a family business, which was born in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo, in 1962. Sebastião (insert surname), a man of determination and with a great vision of entrepreneurship, started his business supplying milk at the door at the door, in a cart, until he acquired a small emporium close to the city's municipal market. Years passed, the emporium prospered and he was already selling wholesale, when an opportunity to move to a slightly larger store arose and the difficulty was to transform the “counter sales” system, very common at the time, into a “Supermarket”.

Having overcome this challenge, the business once again prospered and became one of the largest supermarkets in the city. In the mid-1980s, competition increased in a disorderly manner, multinational companies financed by the government of the time emerged, seriously harming local traders who did not have the same financial power.

At that time, the company was sold to a large competitor that was later acquired by another, even larger, competitor. In 1989, our company was reborn in another neighborhood of the same city, in addition to Mr. Sebastião, his three children also worked, who were completing their studies at the time. History repeated itself and even with the presence of many large competitors in the city, the desire to win prevailed.

Currently, Rede Simpatia employs more than 1,500 employees who work in its 9 stores in operation in the cities of São José dos Campos, Caçapava and São Bento do Sapucaí, in addition to a Distribution Center, located on the banks of the Presidente Dutra Highway , an axis that connects São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro.
