The Svenska Bibeln 1917 is also known as the 1917 Church Bible or Gustaf V’s Bible. King Gustav III commissioned the translation of the Bible into Swedish in 1773. The work of translation took 144 years until it was confirmed by the King Gustaf V and published in 1917.
