The Lake Tahoe Boating App uses GPS to help you find nearby marinas, boat ramps, public piers, beaches, bathrooms, restaurants, fueling locations, and much more. You'll also find information about historic places, best boating practices, emergency contacts, wildlife, plants, and real-time weather.

Needs to add ability to keep screen alive. GPS worked on my phone great while using maps. GPS on this app did not update well at all, so I ended up not using it at all. Buoys out further than 600 feet should be marked with this as well, in order to avoid them at night. I marked them on my Garmin and used that instead. Overall, good idea, but.... Meh.

Hi Robert, Thanks for your feedback. Just this week we have release a new version of the app that includes offline functionality. That may help with the GPS issues. If there is anything else you'd like to see in the app, please email us at gis@trpa.org and we'll see if there is any way we can improve it.

Full disclosure - I work at TRPA, the agency that made this app. But i think its great for new and returning boaters to Tahoe. This app can definitely help navigate on the water and provide some info if you are not familiar with the regulations.

The offline map has a marina located at Meeks Bay. The marina was removed, several years ago.
