It does not seem optimized for Android operating systems. Most importantly, my account information will not load. It stays stuck in an endless loading screen. Other features are buggy, such as application services redirecting incorrectly. The old app worked better, even if it was a bit clunky. This updated version is flashy, but at least on Android phones it is mostly unusable.

The new app isn't bad, but there are some significant improvements that could have been made. First, the phone back button doesn't work in the app. You have to use the built in navigation buttons to go back to the previous screen or to exit the app. Second, there is no dark theme. Third, if you are not going to offer a dark mode, then improve the contrast between items in a list, like account list or transaction list. Items in a list seem to run together.

After recently updating their user interface they have taken a mediocre but functional online banking experience to an unusable one. Been with coastal for quite a while but considering moving on because I can no longer perform basic functions such as payments, transfers and check deposits reliably. Does not help that their rates are no longer nearly as competitive as they used to be, I've been able to get much better rates on my last mortgage and auto loan from others.
