About this app

We have all been following up and obsessing about the historical and iconic Lebanese Revolution. We’ve all tried everything we can do to help from sharing on social media, to contributing financially, to protesting wherever we can.
One thing is for sure, this revolution and its ripples aren'r going anywhere.

Since October 17th, we have identified a couple of problems that we’d like to address:

- Problem 1:
Plenty of Thawra related initiatives are being created daily by passionate volunteers addressing a variety of issues (environmental, economic, charity and fundraising, legal, journalistic... ect).

These initiatives are often looking for volunteers who can offer specific skills.

On the other hand, there is a large number of people in Diaspora (and in Lebanon) who would love to offer those same skills for free to the initiatives that they believe in.

- Problem 2:
With the economic crisis, many businesses in Lebanon have had to shut down and let people go. A lack of dollars in the country and a devaluation of the lira has also been a severe problem.
Since there are people in Diaspora who have the capacity to hire freelancers to work remotely on various projects and who’d like to help support Lebanon’s economy, we’d like to give them the opportunity to find and hire talent living in Lebanon.

There are various google docs, google sheets and slack channels within diaspora groups around the world who have been gathering databases and volunteers to address these two problems.
However, DALEEL MAWAHEB is the tech platform that can connect the people across the world who are trying to find each other, help each other out/work together.

For this, we’ve partnered with Daleel el Thawra who have been an invaluable and credible resource since week 1 of the revolution and who have access to the majority of the initiatives and volunteers both on the ground and internationally.

This is how it works:

If you have skills that you'd like to offer, select "I have skills"
After signing up and verifying your email, you'll select any and all skills that you can offer (don't worry. You can edit them later through your profile).
You'll then have access to all postings that match your skillset.
You can filter the jobs by whether they're paid or not and also by theme (environmental, legal, economic, media, journalism, charity and fundraising...ect)

If you find a posting that you like, then you can get in touch with the requester directly through email and take it from there.

If you don't find any postings that match your skillset, you will get notified the next time something comes up.
You can also browse all postings to see if there's anything else you can apply to.

If you're looking for skills, select "I'm looking for skills"
After signing up and verifying your email, you'll have access to your dashboard where you can create as many postings as you'd like. For each, you'll give a bit of information about yourself, the job description, whether the position is paid or not and the level or urgency.
The right and interested candidates will get in touch.
Once you've filled the position, you can mark a job as complete.
