About this app

AIMS is designed for Veterans and military Service members but can be used by anyone coping with anger problems. The AIMS app is based on the Anger and Irritability Management Skills online self-help course (http://www.VeteranTraining.va.gov/aims/). The app provides users with education about anger, opportunities for finding support, the ability to create an anger management plan, anger tracking, and tools to help manage angry reactions. Users can also create custom tools based on their preferences, and can integrate their own contacts, photos, and music. The AIMS app may be used alone, or in combination with the online course or in-person therapy. AIMS was created by VA’s National Center for PTSD and VA’s Mental Health Services.

Tried to save a trigger about one thing then tried to change it to how unintuitive and useless this app seems. For a medium that's supposed to capture moments of anger, having something easy to follow and use is pretty key. What's the point of asking me to describe my own triggers and coping mechanisms if I can't continue in the form.

Therapist recommended this app to me but it doesn't even work. There's no way to save any data on your own triggers. Like it will say "add a new___" (ie trigger) with a box to type in, but it doesn't save and doesn't let you hit next. Same with going thru and trying to report stuff, boxes are there to type but it doesn't save. Totally worthless and useless app. Esp since this actually got funded to get made. Wow. Also I'm autistic so the way my anger starts is different

Just getting started... When you start and are angry, you will tend to pick apart every detail, criticize, and judge the instruction and aide offered. Obviously this app is not meant as a complete replacement for professional help, but it seems to be good for logging incidents and providing the tools a professional would recommend, for free, at your fingertips. Combined with the online course provided for free by the VA and possibly a therapist, I think this a good tool.
