universe2go is an audio-visual sky guide over the starry sky.

1) In the star map mode, it can be operated separately without a device as an electronic star map. In star map mode, however, only a very limited range of functions is available.

2) In planetarium mode, it generates the display for the universe2go accessory device and guides you through the night sky as the Audio Visual Sky Guide.

With the help of an AR-Astrobrille (AR = augmented reality), you can see at the same time the real sky and virtual transitions with information to the same sky section. This creates a symbiosis of the actual starry sky and a virtual representation of the same clipping. The app generates images and graphical information based on local time, your position on our planet, and device orientation. In short, it knows where you are and where you are looking.

universe2go has 3 key advantages over other star map apps:

1) The accuracy of the other apps is not enough to reliably identify a star. Especially laymen are therefore hardly able to find the constellations safely. With universe2go you can safely identify the right star and the constellation.

2) The apps render the constellations much smaller than they appear in the sky. This is child's play with universe2go because you can see the constellation lines between the real stars.

3) universe2go has a digital zoom that automatically displays a lot of cosmic objects and in many pictures even in 3D! That looks super-cool.

What can you do with universe2go?

In Discovery Mode, explore the 88 official constellations. Learn how the visibility of the constellations changes during the year and which stars belong to which constellation. These are visualized by lines between the real stars. And best of all: universe2go guides you through the sky with numerous spoken texts.

In the mythology mode, universe2go shows you images of the mythological figures that linked the ancient cultures, especially the Greeks, with the stars. So you learn in a simple and fun way much about the ancient heroes, gods, beasts and princesses.

In deep sky mode, you can see interesting celestial objects that you normally can not see with the naked eye but only in the telescope. Explore the beautiful nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters that invisibly populate the sky, yet in large numbers. universe2go shows you a carefully selected selection of the most beautiful and interesting objects. The most important information about the object is displayed in the head-up display and then universe2go zooms in a thousand times and shows you the best shot of the world's best telescopes such as the Hubble telescope.

universe2go contains over 3 hours of audio material and specially prepared astro images for hundreds of objects: constellations, special stars, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, supernovae, comets and satellites. In total it contains data for all 88 official constellations, about 120,000 stars and 7,000 deep-sky objects (northern and southern sky).
