I have used a few similar apps before but Ingred has so far been the best ingredient analyser. Way better than the likes of EWG. The label scanner has issues with the OCR and needs to be improved but overall it does the job. I also want to thank the developer.

I had the older version. Today, I downloaded the new version, and my camera choices are disabled. It asks for permissions which I gave it, but still won't work. I used the app to shop and now I can't activate it. I uninstalled and reinstalled many times. Any advice?

We have released a new version to solve possible errors that have been reproduced in some users. We hope that it will soon be available for download on Google Play so that you can continue using the app as usual.

Here are my thoughts after using briefly - The app can read labels and highlight ingredients effectively. Generally this works well. Sometimes it can take a number of photos to work and took a restart in one instance to be able to read a biscuit label (soft package - not flat). - It is worth checking the scanned label, second tab (list, label, image) to check that all ingredients identified. Some were missed. I would love a wheat and derivatives option similar to Vegan option.
