I wouldn't have given even 1 star. The activation link never gets sent. It's problematic that the app asks for so much information and does nothing after that. I checked all folders -inbox spam, unwanted, etc It's a data collection tool. It's a horrible app and shouldn't be advertised in the DC metro stations. I have stuck to my 6 year old smartrip metro card. I will remove the app but my personal info has been taken from me.

It's like the goal was to make the most frustrating experience possible with an app that will still (barely) get the job done at least sometimes. After all the time wasted on the useless card scanner, the card info randomly getting rejected without explanation and entering my password a million times, it took a good half hour just to pay for my trip, which needless to say you need to do well in advance. Edit: and then the freaking pass doesn't even work, leading to me deducting another star.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Does not deserve 1 Star. Once you get past a password and 3 security questions (seems a bit dated, and more likely a hacking liability than a benefit for app security), everything fails. Setting up payment is impossible, cannot transfer from existing physical card. Start over with an app developer that has experience. Smart trip = no trip! Denial... Call the help desk? Read your reviews and do better.
