About this app

Each colour has a unique NCS notation to describe how the colour relates to the four basic colours – yellow, red, blue, and green, as well as to black and white – in blackness, whiteness and chromaticness.

The NCS code describes the percentage of the colour that consists of these different parts. This makes it possible to describe the colours of all surface materials and ensure that the colours turn out exactly as you want them too.

The Colourpin app makes defining and exploring colours an organized and simplified process.

Download the new free Colourpin app and start pinning colours already today! For every colour you pin, you get colour information in the form of the closest NCS notation, translated into RGB, L*a*b* and lightness values.

Would be great for any designer, but it seems you need to have one of their color scanners to get any real use out of this. I downloaded this thinking I would be able to browse the NCS colors to pick out ones I like, nab their RGB values and add them to my digital color pallete for my character designs, and I can browse them, but only in a long, continuous, vertical column with no way to search for specific hues or colors

Michael, To use the Colourpin app you do have to purchase the Colourpin device. This device and app were created for users to find the closest color match of a given scan. If you have more questions you can contact us at customerservice@variableinc.com

Good day developers. I've encountered a bug in the app. Please assist. When I go to "Saved Colours -> then select a saved Colour -> Find similar Colours -> then click the 3 dots on the bottom right" , the app crashes instantly. Please fix!
