Edible mushroom - Photos

The free application "Edible mushroom - Photos" is very friendly, it has a beautiful and simple interface. The best choice for a pocket dictionary that is always at hand. From which you can learn a lot of new and interesting things, for example, that:
Tricholomopsis rutilans
Tricholomopsis rutilans, known by the unusual but apt common name of Plums and Custard or, less commonly Red-haired agaric, is a species of gilled mushroom found across Europe and North America.
Helvella elastica
Helvella elastica, commonly known as the flexible Helvella, or the elastic saddle, is a species of fungi in the Helvellaceae family, Pezizales order. It is found in Asia, Europe, and North America. It has a roughly saddle-shaped yellow-brown cap atop a whitish stipe, and grows on soil in woods. Another colloquial name is the brown elfin saddle.
Chicken of the woods
The chicken of the woods is a tiny but very tasteful mushroom. As the name already says, it tastes like chicken. You can find the chicken of the woods in the forest.
Truffles
Truffles grow and live underground just like a potato. It is a bit difficult to spot truffles, but with some help of a dog you can find them in the forest. Dig the truffle out of the ground and use it for pasta dishes. Only a very small piece is sufficient. You can also buy truffles from upmarket delicatessens, however these are notoriously pricey.

450 edible species is a decent number, BUT: there are no poisonous ones to compare with, which can be a dangerous thing, and there is no identification key (to go by process of elimination to narrow down identification). You need to already suspect a name to find it in the list (especially those with no image preview). What's more, it doesn't error-check it's files and the database contains errors : only half the thumbnail photos are visible! For these reasons it's actually kind of useless.
