About this app

MagicSDR makes it possible to interactively explore RF spectrum using panadapter and waterfall visualization, demodulate and play AM, SSB, CW, NFM, WFM signals, collect frequencies. Built on the principle of plug-in architecture, MagicSDR - powerful and flexible next-generation SDR (software-defined radio) application. Typical applications are dx-ing, ham radio, radio astronomy, and spectrum analysis. Explore the spectrum everywhere!

To start playing with MagicSDR, you need to set up a server on a host computer to which SDR peripherals (rtl-sdr dongle, Airspy) will be connected or connect SDR peripherals directly to a smartphone via a USB OTG cable. To try application without SDR peripherals, MagicSDR can emulate a virtual radio device.

MagicSDR also provides access to more than six hundred servers around the world, with which you can listen to radio in the shortwave bands. This does not require special equipment.

Support Hardware:
- KiwiSDR
- RTLSDR dongle
- Any other radio that supports the rtl_tcp server
- Hermes Lite
- HiQSDR
- Airspy R2/mini/HF+
- SpyServers

Main features:
- Wide band spectrum view
- AM/SSB/CW/NFM/WFM demodulator
- Screen gestures
- Frequency bookmarks
- Band plan
- Shortwave Guide (EiBi database)
- Noise treshold squelch
- Audio over UDP for external data decoders
- Record audio

I like the app. It's very easy to use. Found a local site to listen to and compare signals. The cost is too high to purchase in my opinion as I NEVER pay more than 5 bucks for any app. Maybe I'm cheap but it's just for amusement only. No real contacts are made because it's for listening only and my radio is much better. It needs a decoder package for digital signals too.. something else I do with my radio.. no wefax either. Anyway its a good start and fun to listen when I'm away and bored.

I'm rating one star because I can no longer use it. No RTL SDR Blog V4 support. I absolutely love your app. I think it's fantastic. I wish there was even a version for Linux, but every other SDR app, large and small software for Mac Windows and Linux, have support for this model by this point. This makes me think it has been abandoned. Please correct me if I am wrong, I will happily ammend my rating and review based upon what happens. Love the app, please just recompile it with the new driver

It's a really decent SDR software considering the fact that it's in its early development. There are some bugs, of course, but hell, it works. I would love to see the driver built-in, gain settings, direct sampling, bias-T toggle, and UI optimizations.
