About this app

Today’s competitive and fast past business environment means that employees are no longer bound to a desk - you need to be mobile and be able to work where your work takes you. NEC’s UNIVERGE ST500 softphones for Android smartphones allow you to make and receive calls from virtually anywhere, as if you were at your desk. While in the office connect to the Wi-Fi to handle your calls. While outside the office you can use your mobile data (3G / 4G) to handle you calls, and you can reduce incurring mobile call costs (See Notes below).

Deploying a ST softphone can save your company money by no longer having employees call-forward their desk phones to their mobile. Staff will also be able to make free internal calls and inexpensive local calls from the softphone rather than all calls being made directly from their mobile phone.

By only giving out your desk phone number (not your mobile number), you will always be contactable and you will only have a single call history and work voicemail to check. The ST500 simplifies your communications.

Thank you for contact us. If using UDP for the SIP protocol, consider configuring your router or firewall to block incoming traffic on port 5060. Additionally, there is a setting called "Confirm the sender" that may help with this blocking. Please try experimenting with this setting. Please contact the NEC sales division or NEC Dealer.

Call will be interrupted and disconnected 2 seconds after making and picking up call. This is due to phone is connected to my smart watch which should be able to pick up or hang up calls. This issue should be fixed.

Extremely concerning uncompromisable permissions required by this app. It requires access to location information (yes, I know this could just be Wi-Fi info), requires to be running in the background at all times, access to your contacts, access to your files, and record audio. Denying any one of these will not allow you to use the app. This is a tough pill to swallow concerning there are much more reliable and less intrusive options available. Uninstalled. Be more transparent in your needs.

Thank you for contact us. The request for location information is to get the Wi-Fi connection name "SSID" only. So, ST500 does not get your location information. Also, in the latest version, you can turn off access to the contact book and video calls. However, you will not be able to use the contact book and video call functions.
