Absolutely fantastic. I love old school rpgs, especially dragon warrior. This game brings back all those memories, but it's even better. I think the most impressive aspect though is not only the story and game play, but the UI. There's a setting that you can use to auto recast spells that is incredibly convenient and the character and inventory screens are very user friendly.

Great, old school rpg reminiscent of games from the '80s and '90s. Lots of content, large world. However there it's WAY too much grinding. It feels like 90+% of the game. It's so tedious I eventually just stopped playing. Grinding in one place for hours gets very boring about the second or third day, repeat in the next area. It eventually doesn't feel worth it any more to get to the end. Late game especially is more chore than fun, after "seeding" becomes necessary. Too boring to finish.

This game has the feel and make to please most 8-bit RPG fans however, there are far too many flaws to be overlooked. First, the unbalanced issue is apparent from the start. Each enemy almost always gets first strike as they have so much more speed than you do, so when you're battling 6 creatures, they will more than likely have already attacked you four times before you even get a chance to begin. The other issue is, each creature hits a minimum of 2-3 time! My tank, which was at 600HP, began the battle and was hit with poison, then the next creature attacks him with three hits ranging from 29-45, followed by another attack. Then, he blocks a blow from another creature and even before his first attack, he's down to 200HP! The other issue is the amount of battles. I understand that potions of invisibility help with this, but I stopped playing at the Tower of the Western Sky as the first floor of the tower was an endless one step attack, take another step attack and so on. Good concept, great look, but unless you like more grinding than playing, beware.
