+Cinemateca

The platform is organized in sections and allows a search by subject, genre and numerous specific tags. The catalog initially consists of more than 400 titles and will grow month by month with new releases, cycles and retrospectives of authors. It is georeferenced, which means that users will only be able to view audiovisual content within the Uruguayan territory.

Currently, the public can enjoy national and international films, both fiction and documentary, among which are works by renowned directors such as Agnés Varda, Paolo Virzi, Marilia Rocha, Jafar Panahi, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Mia Hansen-Løve, Abel Ferrara or Ken Loach, as well as films by directors or less frequent origins that we will be, many times, discovering through the platform.
Festivals Being a national platform, + Cinemateca will take samples of events such as the International Film Festival of Uruguay to the whole country, as well as its complete catalog with all the programming and all the samples of other national and international festivals that will be hosted in part or completely (according to the health situation) on the platform.

Cinemateca Uruguaya is a Uruguayan film library based in Montevideo, Uruguay, founded on April 21, 1952. It is a non-profit civil association that aims to contribute to the development of cinematographic and artistic culture in general. It is based in Bartolomé Miter 1236, in the Ciudad Vieja neighborhood.
