A great way to build vocabulary. I would say great for children too, given the picture association and repetitive nature. However, the spelling portion of the games would need to be for ages 10 and up. It won't impact the overall participation but it may cause frustration. The app does not generalize across Android and apple devices without words and pictures changing. (Ex. Couve -Android, repolho, Apple)

This is a great app for EUROPEAN Portuguese vocabulary. Of course, I am in the learning phase, so I cannot attest to the accuracy of pronunciation. One thing that could be improved, or maybe just made apparent if I am missing it, is the ability to review a section. After you complete a "tile", there does not seem to be an option to go back and repeat. The best way to review appears to be by saving words to favorites and then using that group. It's a little tedious to remember to add to faves.

Drops is well-designed, and manages to be both simple and intuitive. It's also visually pleasing, which is not the case for most flash-card/vocabulary apps. It is a great supplemental tool if, like me, you enjoy a "gamified" and slightly-more-interactive environment than a regular flash-card app. The vocabulary is mostly nouns and some first-person phrases, but has helped with both my vocabulary and pronunciation.
