About this app

Wrist Camera App lets you control and preview your phone camera remotely from your Samsung Watch or Android Wear OS Smart Watch! (Only works on Bluetooth connection)

To be honest, this app has the least amount of features compared to other apps on the market. That being said, it is by far the easiest to use.

* May not work on Huawei and OnePlus phone due to their aggressive power saving feature.

This app will need these permissions to work properly:
1. Camera Permission: Obviously needed to stream your camera view to your watch
2. Storage Permission: We will need to save the photo / video on your phone
3. Microphone Permission: Microphone is needed only when recording a video

Take better photos, get more from your smartwatch. Try it for free, and upgrade if you liked it.

⚠️ Important Disclaimer for WearOS Play Store: This app only works on watches paired with an Android phone. If you're installing this from Play Store on your watch, you must also install the companion app on your phone.

This app also needs to be whitelisted from the phone Power Saving feature: We need this permission because some phone brands completely killed this app when not in use, rendering this app useless on phones like Nokia, Huawei, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.

The idea of it is cool and it does work, but the process of taking photos is incredibly frustrating. The watch has to reconnect to the camera after every shot if you try and zoom in. If you have your phone on too much of an angle, the watch screen will keep trying to adjust to landscape or portrait. I also can't find a way to adjust the timer for more than 3 seconds. It's good but these tiny frustrations are really annoying. Plus it's rarely updated. Honestly feel like I wasted my money.

There is a major issue that it won't skip frames or reduce frame rate when there is lag, so if the Bluetooth connection isn't fast enough, the watch lags an ever increasing amount. I didn't count, but before my trial expired I think I got it to over 30 seconds of delay. Unusable that way. It should skip frames or send them slower when the delay is even 2 seconds in my opinion.

So, the trial is free, but the full app is $2.99 which I gladly paid. I wanted something to turn my Fossil Sport watch into a remote shutter for the camera and this is it. Simple to use, you can even view your camera feed (front and back) without it showing in the phone's screen. Haven't had it long enough to guage battery drain, but so far no obvious problems in 24 hours.
