About this app

•Using artificial intelligence instantly create solos in the style of great jazz, swing and bebop guitar players.

•The music created is totally unique and is copyright free so you can use it however you want in your own creative projects.

•Hear each solo complete with a backing track.

•See the solo written in guitar tablature. The guitar tab lights up and scrolls as the music plays so that you can see each note as it plays.

•Select and save your favorite solos.

•Never run out of licks or things to practice again!

•Choose the chord progression for your solo (or have one automatically created) and shape your solo by adjusting phrasing, harmony, repetition and difficulty sliders.

•The phrasing slider changes whether the solo is built from short melodic riffs, licks and phrases or from longer lines.

•The harmony slider adjusts the harmonic complexity of your solo ranging from simple chord tones and arpeggios through to exotic scales.

•Export your solos as a midi file to use in other music software and hardware.

**EDIT: You can totally have multiple choruses. I'm really sorry** This app is really cool. I'm not 100% sure if it uses lots of premade licks, riffs, and phrases or if just has extensive algorithms, but I'm very impressed with this app. The solos that it generates are pretty believable, and definitely useable for practice applications. I'm really glad that you can input custom chord changes, and the entire interface is very easy to interact with. My only complaints is the 16 bar limit on the solo and that there isn't an option to generate multiple choruses of a form. The parameters are straightforward and sensitive enough that you can see that your slider choices are affecting what's generated, but not extreme enough to make the solo sound ridiculous and silly. It does seem to struggle with ending the solos, and it always sounds as if it is ready for another chorus (I believe this is an intentional design as the app does add the first bar of the next chorus but no full extra choruses). This definitely has it's benefits, as it shows ways to connect choruses in the middle sections of a solo quite well. Overall, I think it is well made, and fun to play around with.

Thanks the review, I'm really pleased you like the app! The new version now has the option to create solos with up to 3 repeats. To answer your question, all the phrases are built using an algorithm based on the chord progression and sliders rather than using licks. This way every solo created will be totally unique and won't reuse the same licks.

This is the best app in the playstore for jazz guitarist. It generates very nice solos that are fun to practice. The solos sound believable on their own however you can always build off them to create your own ideas. I do have a few complaints. Once the solos are generated they cant be paused or rewound so you can con centrate on a difficult passage. It Would also be great to control the tempo, slow or speed up the solos. Also i wish the chord creator included more jazz chords. But great app!!

No good for Android phones where the 3 main Android navigation buttons sit at the bottom of the screen which completely overlaps the menu buttons for the app.
