About this app

Conota (formerly Spotlens) is the ideal camera app for work. It has been developed particularly for professionals like civil engineers, land surveyors, architects, construction professionals and other professionals. The app allows to take photos on site and simultaneously add information both to the file name and to the photo with use of a watermark.

Conota - GPS Camera & Timestamp Camera makes capturing pictures and taking notes more efficiently, combining both processes in one single app.

There is no need to take notes on a piece of paper while taking pictures. Conota will add your inserted notes automatically both to the picture and to the file name. This will give you more time to concentrate on your work, while Conota will take care of saving your notes and pictures combined in a lossless format onto your phone.

Conota works, so you can work!

With Conota - GPS Camera & Timestamp Camera, you can add a project name, company name, notes and more information, for example a reference no. or chainage directly in the app while taking pictures.
Additional relevant data for professionals, e.g. GPS coordinates / photo location (latitude and longitude and multiple other coordinate formats), GPS accuracy, altitude, address, date and time (timestamp) will be added by Conota.

Information that can be added:
- Project name
- Taken notes

- GPS accuracy (in m or ft)
- Altitude (in m or ft)
- Date & time (timestamp)

SpotLens has been my go to camera application for awhile. No adds and lots of features. However, it looks like the developers are going in a different direction. The free version of Conota seems is fine, there are ads now tho. Pro version looks good but I'm not inclined to pay a monthly or yearly subscription. I understand people need to get paid for their work but a camera app seems like it should be a 1 time app purchase. An IOS version would bring is $ as they lack good camera options. Cheers

Hi Mathiew, we appreciate your honest review. Yes, we reached a point where monetisation became necessary & sensible. We give our best to balance offering free features to the general audience & ensuring a sustainable income, allowing us to maintain a high quality app long-term. Feel free to reach out via email if you have questions. Cheers Michael

Loving it so far. My only complaint is that I can't choose what album the photos save to and all the photos end up in my gallery. My company doesn't provide a company phone so having to scroll through hundreds of project photos to find the photos of my kids is a pain. Sure I can manually move photos to another album but when you take hundreds of photos a day it's a real pain on the a**! Add this feature in and I would give this 5 stars and recommend it to everyone of my coworkers!

Hi Austin, thanks for your feedback. Conota actually saves all photos in a separate folder named Conota already, which is within the Pictures folder, unlike photos taken with the main camera app, which go to the DCIM folder. The issue might actually be caused by your gallery app. Did you try using Google Photos? Any questions, just send me an email

Great application, would like to have the option not to have the photos in a grouped album, also would like the option to have the photos stored in there own album. I have this on my phone but after recommending it to my colleagues they do not have this feature for some reason Definitely do not like the fact that I have to view an add see my photo that I just too. I don't mind the add banners but that's too far

Hi Nick, thanks for your feedback. We had to start showing more ads simply because maintaining and improving the app is work-intensive and thus costly. What about giving Conota Pro a try? It will remove ads and comes with handy new features! Take advantage of the 14 day free trial, to see for yourself if it suits you. Kind regards, Michael

What's new

We added two new coordinate systems to Conota Pro:
- STEREO70 / Pulkovo 1942(58) (for Romania)
- HTRS96 / TM (for Croatia)
