Careful when first opening this app! There are two (yeah, 2) pop ups pushing the "7 day free trial". If you click the "start trial" button and agree to the subscription, even if you uninstall it, it will charge you $29.99 for the year. Click the X in the top right hand corner (of any popups), it'll then be free to use. The free version works great. It's just lame that they have to use such tricky tactics to get subscriptions. Don't fall for it. Be vigilant when DLing apps or you'll get screwed.

It's very useful for the insects it knows. It's wrong frequently. However, when it's wrong you can only tell the app it's wrong if you know the right answer. So if I get results that are clearly not accurate but I still don't know what it is, I can't communicate that to the app. Then is labels it with one of the incorrect guesses. This is probably adding to the inaccurate data.

Identification accuracy can be influenced by shooting angle and image quality. Taking photos in good light, highlighting distinctive features of your subject, and ensuring the image is clear can help. We value your feedback. For further assistance, please reach out to us at Amber@thevisionext.com.

I absolutely love bugs and insects (and this app). It is almost always completely on point (I have the free version, so not sure if that makes a difference) and is more specific than other apps I've tried which are more generalized. The only thing I wish is that we could take pictures offline and save them to search when we're online again. I don't currently have a phone plan so I run on wifi, but I'm always seeing so many insects I want to learn about on the go.
