Commonly read and accepted for use in the church by Christians, the Luther Bible is translated from the Old Hebrew, the Aramaic and the Old Greek language into the German language (originally Early High German).

The translation was made by Martin Luther, priest, reformer and one of the most important figures in the Protestant Reformation. The first edition of the complete Bible was released in 1534.
