About this app

Fables are special stories in which animals (or even plants) always take over the actions of humans. The animals usually embody typical characteristics of people.
Speaking animals with typical characteristics represent human behavior from which lessons for living together should be drawn.
These teachings are still valid today and reflect people's desirable maxims of behavior.
The most famous fabulist is Aesop, who is therefore also called the "father of the fable". According to tradition, Aesop lived about 550 BC. The numerous animal fables attributed to him probably go back to oral narratives.

German fables contain:
    Aesop
    Jean de La Fontaine
    Christian F. Gellert
    Hans Sachs
    Ivan A. Krylov
    Gotthold E. Lessing
    Martin Luther
    Florian Russi
